Monastery (ar_monastery) is an official Arms Race map in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
Overview
Monastery is a large, open-spaced an Arms Race map added as part of the October 1, 2012 update. It features the GSG-9 as the Counter-Terrorists, and the Balkans as the Terrorists.
Notes
- This map is not available in the Perfect World version of Counter-Strike Global Offensive due to the map taking place in Tibet.[2].
- This is the only Arms Race map without an achievement for winning five matches.
Trivia
- Monastery was originally simply called Tibet.
- Judging from the details of the map, it is likely this map's namesake is based on the real-life Potala Palace in Tibet or another monastery in the Himalayan mountains.
- The map before release was originally cut but re-add again with a new skybox less mountainy look.
